Tryouts will begin Monday April 21

The schedule has been posted under the tryout schedule page at this link: TRYOUT SCHEDULES

Registration for a tryout passport is now available and is completed through RAMP like all other package registrations at this link: TRYOUT PASSPORT PURCHASE

Tryout Process

All players trying out will need to sign in at the tryout desk for every skate they attend

Players will receive a helmet number (sticker) at their first skate which is assigned to that player. The helmet sticker number will follow the player throughout the tryout process.  Do Not remove the sticker until all tryouts are completed.

Each player will be emailed a personal identification code on the introduction email sent by the head coach for the first tryout of that level (if you do not receive a pin number please check in with the tryout table to receive it prior to the start of the tryout).

Players selected will have their code listed on the respective Tryout Player List on the respective team page.

Injured players prior to tryouts: Please inform the VP of Rep and Coach and Player Development prior to tryouts.  The injured player must still purchase the tryout passport and register and will be required to attend the tryout by being in the stands during tryouts.  A doctors note will be required/requested.

Permission To Tryout (PTTO)

PTTO requests can be obtained by filling out the online form at this link: PERMISSION TO TRYOUT FORM

A separate PTTO is required for each association you wish to tryout for.

Please allow 24-48  hours to process these requests.

Non-Resident Rules

If you are non resident or moving into Whitby and would like to tryout please see our residency policy listed on our website at this link:

Non resident quotas and rules

Parents/Players are NOT permitted to loiter around or near the tryout desks. Taking pictures of players, player profile sheets, or any WGHA tryout documents is prohibited and may result in removal from the process and deemed a member in bad standing.

All players MUST attend all mandatory scheduled tryout sessions unless given permission by the coach in question along with Director of Coach and Player Development and VP of Rep.

Successful player selections will be offered online via WGHA website. Coaches must update the site with returning players within 4 hours of conclusion of current tryout ice slot.

NOTE - Once any player has been offered a spot on a Rep team following tryouts, the player must accept the position (in writing)  within 24 hours of offer.  If they decline the spot they will be required to tryout at the next level below ie if they decline an A spot they will then be required to tryout at BB.

Within 2 weeks of a team being selected the coach will arrange their first team meeting which an executive member will be present at.  At this meeting a $250 non-refundable deposit is required for each player (towards overall individual cost per player)

The WGHA executive reserves the right to modify eligibility of players for selection purposes and categorization of teams as needed to put our players and teams in a position to be successful.
