Respecting Volunteers
Volunteers are the greatest resource in hockey. They give their time, energy and talents to provide help and inspire dreams (Hockey Canada Volunteer Engagement Philosophy Statement).

Welcome back to hockey WGHA families and friends!

As the new season is about to unfold the Executive Board would like to put out a friendly reminder in relation to our volunteers.

The WGHA’s number one priority is the safety of all members.  This includes volunteers as they are the greatest resource in our association. They give their time, energy and talents to provide help on and off the ice.  Volunteers are the strength of the game and are essential to delivering quality programs and life experiences that are fun.

Please always respect their time and commitment to your player’s team.  If you are having concerns or issues with a team volunteer, please go through the proper channels to report.

If your player is in the Representative stream please speak with the team’s manager.  Team managers are available to assist with concerns and help resolve issues as they are the liaison between the parents, coaching staff and the executive.  (Rep Coach Handbook)

If your player is in the House League stream please follow the Discipline Policy and Complaint Process outlined in the House League Coaches Handbook.  The Handbook can be found on the WGHA website under Bench Staff Resources, Handbooks, House League Handbook.  (House League Handbook)

Thank you to everyone and looking forward to a great season!
