UPDATE on WGHA Rep Import Rules for the 2024/25 season
As our Rep players prepare for the 2024/25 season, the WGHA
would like to provide an update on the rules regarding non-Whitby resident
players.
As a reminder for 2023/24 WGHA rep season the WGHA increased our non Whitby residents at the following levels and ages:
U11 - 3 Non-Whitby Residents
U13 - 8* Non-Whitby Residents
U15 - 7 Non-Whitby Residents
U18 - 8 Non Whitby Residents
For the 2024/25 season the total number of non-Whitby residents will remain the same for each AA team (as above).
Non-Whitby residents who played in the 2023/24 season will remain as being regarded as non-residents.
If a current non-Whitby player does not make a AA team for the 2024/25 season they can remain in the WGHA at a lower level.
As a hypothetical example, the U11AA team has 1 non-Whitby resident remaining on the team for the 2024/25 season. The U11AA coach next season has a maximum of 2 non-Whitby residents to add to the team for the 2024/25 season.
*For the 2024/25 season there was an exemption made for U13AA and the total number of non-Whitby players was moved up to 8 (from 6). This exemption was put forward by the 2024/25 coaches along with evidence and was voted on and approved by the WGHA board.
The total number of non-Whitby players will be re-examined by December 2024 for the 2025/26 WGHA season.
