Are you ready? WGHA House League begins Sept 9
Submitted By Craig Vallbacka on Friday, September 1, 2017
Another hockey season is almost upon us. Your WGHA House League program will begin on Sept 9 for most teams. Watch for an email in the next few days from your convenor or coach with more information. In the meantime, here are a few quick tips to get the season started off right.

  1. Check equipment for size and fit - don’t forget about sticks and skates

  2. Inspect equipment to make sure nothing is damaged or needs adjustments – take special note of any screws or clips on helmets as they can loosen over time

  3. Make sure skates are sharp

  4. Pack the hockey bag with all the extras – stick tape, equipment tape, water bottle, towel, extra laces

  5. Check the team schedule, ice time and arena. Then check again! Use the iCal link on our site for your team schedule once it’s posted.

  6. Get to the rink a bit early so that there is extra time to get ready – lots of players will want to reconnect with old friends and talk about their summers!

  7. Have fun!
If you have not heard from your coach by September 8, email [email protected] before 6pm and include the player's division, birth year, and a phone number.

In need of new equipment?
The Whitby-area has many options for equipment, such as one of our league sponsors like Play It Again Sports, Pro Hockey Life or National Sports. Ask for help if you need it to make sure your player has what they need to be safe, comfortable, perform and enjoy the game.
