The U15BB Whitby Wolves had a phenomenal showing this past weekend, bringing home the
gold medal at the
Clarington Applefest Tournament.The team displayed exceptional teamwork, grit, and determination throughout the round robin, earning a second-place finish after securing victories over Clarington, Brantford, and Sudbury. Their only setback came in a tightly contested game against league rivals, the Lindsay Lynx.
In the semifinal, Whitby battled hard to come away with a nail-biting 3–2 win, setting up a much-anticipated rematch against Lindsay in the championship final.
The gold medal game lived up to the hype—a thrilling, back-and-forth battle between two evenly matched teams. With the score tied late in the third period, the Wolves netted the game-winning goal to clinch a dramatic 3–2 victory and the tournament title.
